A George III sterling silver vinaigrette, London 1797 by Thomas Phipps and Edward Robinson
Of oval cylindrical form with a stand-away hinge. The lid with a vacant elliptical cartouche against a striated ground with stippling, repeated to the sides and underside. The gilt interior with a hinged drill pierced grill. Marked to the bottom, makers mark only to the lid, the grill unmarked.
