A late 1950s mantel clock by Smiths

Late 1950s brass modernist case, white Everflex clock face under glass, black covered Everflex sides, stylised numerals, marked 'Smiths / Sectronic / Made in Great Britain', engraved message to the top brass plate reading "Dearest Pig from Clemmy Cat and Kittens 8th October 1959". The design of the clock was referred to as "the Churchill” by the maker.
