An early 19th century continental gold and pique inlaid lacquer vinaigrette, probably German circa 1820
Rectangular form with waisted sides, suspension loop. The front and back with cut and engraved pique work of eagles within garlands to one side and scrolling arabesques to the other. The interior with a hinged pierced grill of foliate scrolls. Each side stamped 16 and a partially obscured makers mark.
