A CHINESE FAMILLE-VERTE IMARI 'LADY AND FLOWER' DISH
Qing Dynasty, Kangxi Period
清康熙 五彩仕女花卉紋盤
Painted to the central reserve with a solitary lady sat on a terrace enjoying the smell of a delicate flower, her left leg resting against a table adorned with scholarly accoutrements, the moulded foliate cavetto with scholar's objects, butterflies flying over leafy sprays, lotus flowers reserved against an iron-red ground, and gilt-painted landscapes on a powder-blue ground
