A Charles II provincial sterling silver trefid spoon, York possibly 1674 by John Williamson (free 1674, d. 1703) overstriking that of another, probably Thomas Mangey
The oval shaped bowl with moulded rat tail heel, the flat stem with trefid pattern terminal. Engraved to the front with early 18th century initials M*H in Roman script with hatching, the obverse with later 18th century initials TGRH in Roman script. Marked to stem with town mark, worn date letter (possibly a cursive V) and makers mark IW in a shaped punch.
