A PAIR OF VERY FINE PART SILK TABRIZ RUGS, NORTH-WEST PERSIA

The pale apriicot field of each with angular floral motifs around large hooked and stepped double floral medallion with pendants. Ivory floral spandrels. In light beige border of stylised turtle-palmettes between floral and plain stripes, approx: each, 153cm. x 100cm. Well drawn design and pastel appearance. Seldom found type woven in pair. Each rug has ful pile of soft wool and part silk. Ends with short fringes, secured. Selvages original. Very fine weave, approx: 8 x 8 knots per sq. cm. In general both rugs are in very good usable condition. Very good furnishing pieces.
