A transcription of the work originally printed by Richard and Edward Atkins for Thomas Simmons in 1680, transcribed by J. Brandwood in the year 1790. 4to. 349pp. Provenance: Believed to be in the hand of Quaker James Brandwood (1739–1826)of Rochdale, Lancashire. A pencil inscription on pp.296 states: 'Tottington lower end (valuation) by Jas. Brandwood, John Smith & Jno Kay'. A further pencil annotation to the first page comments: 'Pendle Forest Lower Tottington'. Brandwood is noted as being a land surveyor and conveyancer. (One page torn with minor loss to text, partly repaired with clear tape, a few other closed tears). Later brown cloth, lettered in gilt to spine: 'Brandwood MSS (rubbed).
