both parts of this piece are panelled with tongue and groove wood, possibly a later addition instead of plain oak.
The left hand side of this chest, top part has a long split, filled with veneer repairs, to part is clean, there is a shorter split to the right , the fret work frieze is good but extends only to the front of the chest, cock beading loose to one small drawer, loose in drawer,
overall the colour is good, black ink marks to one drawer, some light dents to surfaces of drawers, noted repair to one drawer, patching to one drawer.
Handles might be replaced, although there are no drill holes in the drawer froms to suggest other handles added.
The feet might be later. Some care and attention has gone into repolishing the surfaces at some point.
The drawer linings are all oak, drawer bases have natural splits.
