A Victorian sterling silver novelty scent bottle / vinaigrette combination, London 1863 by Sampson Mordan

Formed as a berrel, with traces of gilding on the staves. Both ends with hinged lids and gilt interiors, one with a pierced foliate grill. The top with screw thread baulbus cup. Fully and part-marked. Stamped for retailer 'Mansfield Dublin' and 'S Mordan & Co London'. Suspension chain.

Length - 5cm / 2 inches

Weight - 52.25 grams / 1.67 ozt
