The initials are for Gustavus Andreas Witt (German, Hamburg 1840-1905) a merchant who married Johanna Frederika Helene de Clermont (German, Frankfurt 1848-1936). Thence by descent to their son Sir Robert Witt (1872-1952), thence to Sir John Witt (1907-1982), thence by descent.
