Opaque pigments and gold on wove paper, the horizontal composition depicting the Hindu Goddess Durga ascending to the sky in the middle of the scene, the rest of the narrative unfolding left to right with scenes featuring an evil king advised by demons, a child's kidnapping, the return of the child to his rightful father, and a gathering of demons in conversation, Durga surrounded by Rajput princes on the left and Shaiva ascetics on the right, showered with stars and blessings from two angels in the sky, set within black and white rules, and dark red borders, 24cm x 33.5cm.
