An early 20^th century Iraqi silver and niello cigarette box, Omara dated 1923 signed Baqqal and Abbas

Of cylindrical form with a gently domed pull off lid. The lid with a nielloed scene of dhow sailing boat at the riverbanks, the sides with the Abu Hanifa al in Nu'man, Baghdad, two boatmen in a gufa, palm trees as well as dhow sailing boats in perspective. The side of the lid nielloed Lily Baghdad – 1923. Signed to the side.
