PROPERTY FROM AN IMPORTANT EUROPEAN PRIVATE COLLECTION
Isfahan, Iran, dated Ramadan 1107 AH (April 1696)

Arabic manuscript on paper, 243ff. plus one fly leaf, each folio with 18ll. of black ink naskh script with interlinear translation in Persian red ink nasta’liq script, chapter headings in gold, catchwords, within gold and black rules, set in a lacquer binding with a brown calf spine, the outer covers with floral profusions of roses, tulips, carnations, irises, narcissi on a black ground, the red interiors with further red and gold borders, the text panel 10cm x 6cm, the folio 13.3cm x 9cm.
