The present work is likely a derivative and preparatory sketch for a known oil painting titled 'A capriccio of Venice, with Saint Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace' and signed 'A Storck Fecit' (lower right), offered in an Anonymous sale at Leo Spik (Berlin), 11 November 1965 (lot 224), and Sothebys (London), Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, 9 July 2015 (lot 197).
