A LAST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT BRONZE AND RED GRIOTTE MARBLE MANTLE CLOCK BY FERDINAND BARBEDIENNE, PARIS the drum case surmounted by an urn hung with garlands with a bow and quiver of arrows below, raised on four hoof supports with floral and foliate swags above a rectangular breakfront red griotte marble base with beaded border, pierced scrolling and foliate garland mount on four toupie feet, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers, signed ‘Barbedienne, A Paris, pierced gilt hands, the twin train movement striking the hour on bell, stamped ‘J.E.D’ in an oval, numbered '9339' and '18, 3', with a sun burst mask pendulum, 42.5cm high
