AN ANTIQUE MOGHAN RUG, SOUTH-EAST CAUCAUSUS

The field with barber pole lattice, containing multicoloured Memling guls. In sandy-beige crab-rosette border, between intelocking triangles and running-dog stripes, approx: 267cm x 116cm. Classic for this type with very good colour combination. Salvages original, slightly fraying in parts. Ends with original kilim and fringes, slightly fraying at one side. Few crease lines with a touches of wear. Localised moth damage to the pile at one side, otherwise good pile. The black is slightly corroded. In general this rug is in good usable condition. Very attractive and sought after type.
