Sir Alfred Jodrell (1847-1929), Bayfield Hall, Holt, Norfolk, UK, no.13 [as per label to reverse of saucer]. Sir Alfred Jodell was the 4th and final Jodrell Baronet, assuming the title in 1882. Jodell founded the Shell Museum in Glandford, close to his Norfolk home at Bayfield Hall, which housed his collection over six decades. A noted public benefactor, he funded the restoration of churches such as St Nicholas in Blakeney and the provision of supplies to Norfolk & Norwich Hospital. He was High Sheriff of Norfolk in 1887;

The chrysanthemum flower is the symbol of autumn and the flower of the ninth month in the lunar calendar. Chrysanthemum together with wolfberry conveys the meaning 'May the chrysanthemum and wolfberry extend your years'.
