NOTES: Robert Stewart Sherriffs was a famous caricaturist, who also branched into book illustrations when he realized full-page plates as well as a number of insect vignettes in The Life and Death of Tamburlaine the Great, a play by Christopher Marlowe (1590), that was published by The Hesperides Press, Two Little Essex Street, Strand, London, 1930.
