A mid-20th century Burmese silver bowl, Rangoon circa 1950
Of compressed circular form with a moulded rim. The body with embossed decoration of various figural scenes probably from the Ramayana interspersed with Burmese rosewood trees against a textured ground. The upper section with a chased band of trailing foliate scrolls between textured bands, the lower section with chased stylised leaves. Stamped underneath 95% SILVER BURMA.
