A late 19th / early 20th century Burmese silver bowl, Rangoon circa 1900
Of compressed circular form with embossed decoration of figures probably from the Ramayana, a kneeling figure offering a shell to a seated woman, a warrior with a sword with a recumbent elephant, other pairs of figures, against a textured ground all under arches reserved with foliate scrolls, and above a band of stylised betel leaves. Unmarked.
