A late 19th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver teapot, Cutch circa 1880

Raj period. Of globular form upon a pedestal circular foot, the curved spout opposite a C scroll handle leading to a hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable plain bulbous knop finial. The rim with an applied pierced gallery formed of mirrored cyma scrolls heightened with chased lines. The body with chased decoration of foliate scrolls with rosettes above stylised acanthus leaves, the spout and lid similarly decorated, the handle chased.
