Aesopi Phrygis, et aliorum fabulae…, woodcut printer’s device on title and colophon (last verso), and about 200 woodcut illustrations in text, small wormtrail throughout and intermittent minor ink staining to upper edge of leaves, light occasional spotting, label and signature of W.(alter?) King, 18th century calf, marbled pastedowns, rubbed, one corner scuffed, a.e.g. with floral motif, [Brun, p.184; Mortimer, French, 6], 16mo, Hieronymum de Marnef, Paris, 1561.
***Rare. Brun notes that the woodcut of G3 is signed with the initial "I" with a moon crescent, which, according to Thieme-Becker, represents an artist named Jean Croissant, and not Jean Cousin.
