AUTOGRAPH LETTER FROM PRINCESS MARY ADELAIDE, DUCHESS OF TECK

on mourning stationery, addressed to written to Hardinge Stanley Giffard, 1st Earl of Halsbury PC, QC, reading "Dear Lord Chancellor, I enclose a letter [no longer present], which the Vicar of Kew just forwarded to me from Mr Bush, a former inhabitant of Kew now resident at Stowlake who is most anxious that I should support an application, it appears has already been made to you on his behalf. By the death of poor Mr Thomas Douglas of Chester, a County Court Judgeship has just become vacant and if the appointment could be conferred on Mr Bush, I should indeed feel grateful for he is a very worthy man and has become a decided Conservative", three pages, light handling wear, 8vo, White Lodge, Richmond Park, 25 March 1896.
