A George III sterling silver coffee biggin stand, London 1815 by John Wakelin and Robert Garrard (reg. 20th Oct 1792)
The base of incurved square form, with single burner of urn form with moulded rim. The receptacle ring with bright cut engraved decoration, raised on four panelled legs with lion paw feet, attached to the base. Each element engraved with a crest of a demi – griffin with wings displayed. Wooden inset base. Marked underneath wood, to side of urn, underside of receptacle ring and burner cap. Scratch weight 11:4 to side.
