Artist Description:
Manetas analyses the relationship between computers, video games and human beings through the medium of oil on canvas. He explores the representations and the aesthetics of an information-heavy society. His internet-based works investigate new technologies and their influence on human beings. Bringing together inputs from the virtual world, he processes them through the analysis and recodification of the real and its representation. As a result, Manetas produces a new iconographical system, reflecting the web as a continually evolving present.
