A Japanese Negoro lacquer tea caddy (chazutsu), Edo period

The finely executed tea caddy and cover (chazutsu) of bulbous form and covered overall in negoro lacquer with the under layer of black lacquer showing through the red outer layer in random patches, together with a Japanese wood box and cover (tomobako)

Dimensions: 7cm high (chazutsu)
