A late 19th / early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver teapot, Lucknow circa 1900
Raj period. Of globular form upon a spreading circular foot. The curved spout opposite a curved handle formed as a cobra, the hinged domed lid surmounted by a finial of a caparisoned elephant. The body with chased decoration in jungle pattern of elephants and lion, below a trailing foliage band, repeated to the lid and spout.
