An extremely fine part silk Isfahan prayer rug, central Persia

Approx: 169cm. x 109cm. Very well drawn design with various floral and arabesque panels together with delicate scrolling floral and leafy vine. Very good colour combination with unusual soft pistachio-green field. This rug has full pile, soft and lustrous wool together with silk used on field and border design. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 10 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. Selvages original. Ends with original fringes. In general, this rug is in very good condition throughout. Very attractive and elegant piece.
