A heavy Victorian sterling silver coffee biggin / pot on burner stand, London 1875 by Robert Garrard II (reg. 16th April 1818)

Of baluster form upon a stepped circular foot with gadrooned band, the body with wrythen swirl decoration. A ribbed fluted spout opposite a turned ivory C scroll handle with shell junctions leading to a hinged stepped and domed lid with gadrooned edge and detachable fluted pyriform finial. All resting on a circular stand with three scroll legs with shell form feet and acanthus knees, with detachable bun shaped burner. Engraved to the stand and burner with a crest of a stag trippant. Fully marked underneath, to stand, to burner, to burner lid and part-marked to lid. Also stamped ‘Garrards, Panton Street London’ underneath. (2)
