A boxed collection of mid-20th century Iraqi silver and niello items, the compact Omara circa 1940 signed Salih
Circular form with niello decoration of the Taq Kasra (Ruins of Ctesiphon) to the reverse, palm trees and dhow sailing boats to the front, signed to the reverse Omara, Salih. Together with a buckle, a paperknife and a broach each formed as a dagger, and a filigree bracelet. Housed in a Syrian Damascus ware mother of pearl inlaid marquetry box.

These items were collected by the vendor’s father who in September 1945 was a Red Cross Medic, Seargent in the UK air force, serving in the middle east.
