A GROUP OF SEVEN JADE ARCHER'S RINGS.

19th / 20th Century.

Comprising five undecorated rings of spinach jade, chicken bone, russet and pale celadon hues, a white jade ring incised with a coiled dragon around the exterior, and a celadon jade carved through the chocolate brown skin to depict a melon on a branch beside a butterfly, 2.9 - 3.6cm diameter. (7)

Provenance: an important South African private collection, acquired between the 1960s and 1980s, thence by descent to the present owner.
