Tibet, probably 17th Century.

Depicting the red Buddha seated cross-legged on a lotus throne supported by two snow lions, wearing a skull tiara, a dhoti and a cape covering his shoulders, holding a vajra and a ghanta bell in his crossed arms, a double halo behind him, with a Green and White Tara to his sides, all surrounded by lamas and guardians and with a small altar of offerings below, ink and pigment on canvas, unmounted, 72.5 x 54.5cm.
