A very large late 19th / early 20th century Anglo – Indian silver footed bowl, Calcutta, Bhowanipore circa 1900 by Grish Chunder Dutt
Raj period. Of rounded circular form upon a domed pedestal foot. The body with embossed decoration in village pattern including a cart being drawn by oxen, oxen ploughing a field, two figures outside of a temple, three figures sat grounding flour outside of a two huts, the foot embossed with various trees and shrubs. Marked to footrim edge GRISH CHUNDER DUTT & SONS, BHOWANIPORE CALCUTTA and stamped underneath.
