AN ANTIQUE QASHQAI RUG, SOUTH-WEST PERSIA

The charcoal field with polychome hooked panels, stellar flowerhead octagons and small rosettes around rust hooked lozenge medallion with stepped floral pendants contining similar desig. Ivory linked spandrels with similar motifs. In stellar-flowerhead and hooked bar border between rosettte, reciprocal and plain stripes, approx 6ft.4in. x 4ft.1in.(193cm. x 124cm.) Very good type, sought after at present market. Design is well drawn. Good colour combinaton. This rug has few small holes at one and touches of light wear to the pile in few small places, barley visible. Charcoal-black is slightly corroded. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends original with fringes. Attractive piece.
