A George III sterling silver teapot, London 1806 by Robert Garrard I (reg. 11th Aug 1802)

Of rounded form with cavetto top leading to an everted gadrooned rim, all raised upon a collet foot. A curved spout opposite a wooden C scroll handle, the hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable wooden finial. Engraved to the side with initials TM in flourished cursive script below a Baron’s coronet. Fully marked underneath, and part marked to lid.

Length – 5.3 inches / 9.9 inches

Weight – 636 grams / 20.45 ozt

A possibility for these initials is Theodosia Monson (aft. 1727 - 1821), wife of John Monson, 2nd Baron Monson (1727-1774).
