The finely-potted deep bowl with flaring sides, decorated to the interior well with a roundel enclosing two recumbent deer resting by a pine tree and beneath the moon in a mountainous landscape scene surrounded by an elaborate border, the exterior brightly painted with a continuous scene depicting three scholars seated amongst deer and alongside scholarly objects including scrolls and books, the rocky landscape with large and imposing pine trees and a scholar and his attendant crossing a bridge with two cranes flying above, the base bearing a Kangxi six-character mark in underglaze blue within a double circle and of the period, together with a cloth box
