A mid-18th century Portuguese silver gilt basin, Lisbon circa 1750 by L.I.E (unidentified, probably Vidal 2330)
of shaped oval form upon four cast foliate scroll feet. The embossed edge with foliage, scrolls and husk shells against a textured ground. Engraved with initials PDS near rim. Marked to this area with town mark (Vidal. 14), maker’s mark, the underside with assay scrape.
