A cased set of mid-19th century Indian colonial silver and mother of pearl fruit eaters, Calcutta circa 1840, by Arthur Pittar, Lattey and Co (active 1835-42)

Comprising twelve fruit forks and twelve fruit knives. Each with mother of pearl handles with carved scroll terminals, four of the knives with replacement later handles, carved the same. Each marked with APL&Co, pseudo lion passant, capital Roman B, tally mark. All housed in original fitted mahogany box.

Knife length – 19.5 cm / 7.7 inches

Case length – 24.3 cm / 9.5 inches
