Olivier François Xavier Sarony (1820-1879)

PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN, 1851, quarter plate portrait of a seated gentlemen, some tarnishing to the peripheries of the plate and light haze, in a bevelled gilt mount and wall hanging frame, with Mr Sarony's Photographic Portraits label affixed verso, detailing at length his visit to the town of Thirsk in North Yorkshire for two weeks from the 27th January 1851, complete with list of charges.
