A George II / III silver baby’s rattle, London circa 1760 by Matthew Ferris (reg. 21st Sep 1759)
With embossed decoration of flower heads and gadrooning, knopped sections with six bells suspended. Whistle section with coral teether, suspension loop deficient. Engraved with initials to whistle section S+H in Roman script. Makers mark only to whistle section.
