FOUR CHINESE JADE PLAQUES.
19th / 20th Century.
Comprising: a pendant carved and pierced in the form of a butterfly with outstretched wings beneath a floral spray, with a fitted wood stand, a rectangular panel carved on both sides to depict the hehe twins beneath a bat, a rectangular panel depicting a flowering prunus branch with attendant lingzhi fungus and bamboo, and a circular jadeite panel mounted as a clip, 4.7 - 8cm long. Provenance: an important South African private collection, acquired between the 1960s and 1980s, thence by descent to the present owner.
