A late 19^th century Anglo – Indian silver table box, Cutch, Bhuj circa 1880 by Oomersi Mawji (active 1860-90)

Raj period, of circular form with a pull off lid. The lid centre with a circular cartouche engraved with an initial E in flourished cursive script, the cartouche edged with leaves, otherwise with chased foliate scrolls and rosettes, edged with beading. The side of the lid with acanthus leaves, the side of the base with foliate scrolls and rosettes. The underside of base marked only with O.M and BHUJ.
