A GROUP OF FOUR CHINESE PALE CELADON JADE FIGURES.

Qing Dynasty, 18th / 19th Century.

Comprising: a lady standing in long flowing robes with a large piece of lingzhi fungus held over the left shoulder, wood stand, a carving of a scholar with an alms bowl in one hand and a fly whisp in held over the back, wood stand, a seated boy with knees apart, a lotus spray held over the back, and a carving of Liu Hai with a three-legged toad clambering over his left shoulder and a younger boy embracing him from atop a double gourd bottle, 5.5 - 8.4cm H. (4)

Provenance: an important South African private collection, acquired between the 1960s and 1980s, thence by descent to the present owner.
