WATKINS, Vernon. (1906-1967). The Death Bell. London: Faber & Faber, 1954. 8vo., (occasional spotting), red cloth, with blue dust jacket with titles in black and red. FIRST EDITION, SIGNED by the author to the front endpaper. With a manuscript letter dated September 1956, loosely inserted, from Watkins to a Miss Campbell, who comments that he thinks the "Sea ballads in " the Death Bell" make this the most appropriate book". With Sylvia Plath's Ariel. (London: Faber and Faber, 1965). 8vo., (previous owner's signature 'John Snelling' to front endpaper, splitting at gutter of front endpapers). Red cloth with red and blue dust jacket. (Covered in a yellow laminate which is adhered to the jacket). With a docket, loosely inserted from Faber & Faber which reads: " Faber & Faber have the pleasure in sending for review a copy of ARIEL- Sylvia Plath, which will be published on 11th March 1965 at 12s. 6d. (2)
