A fine series depicting a Cavalry School. A set of 6 copper engraved card-backed, cut away sheets combining to create an early peep show, [105×142 mm] with original hand-colouring;

The cut aways depict; [1] A group of men riding horses, playing music with drums and trumpets, preceded by three infantrymen who approach a richly baroque decorated portal, with sculptures on top and columns;[2] a group of cavalry approaching towards the foreground; [3] two arched architecture on both sides, in the centre of the composition four men are training a horse; [4] a similar scene but further in depth, framed by classical architectures on each side; [5] a courtyard with simple buidings and a barn. In the centre, three people are carrying horses; [6] a garden closed by tall walls and two men walking through it.
