A COLLECTION OF THREE CHINESE JADE ANIMALS.

19th / 20th Century.

Comprising: a miniature carving of a horse seated on its side legs and tail tucked in and mouth nibbling on the upper hind leg,a pale celadon lion seated with the legs tucked beneath, the head turned dramatically round, a spray of lingzhi fungus grasped in the teeth, and a carving of a badger neatly seated with the head turned back, 3 - 5.5cm long. (3)

Provenance: an important South African private collection, acquired between the 1960s and 1980s, thence by descent to the present owner.
