A PAIR OF VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER GOBLETS, SHEFFIELD 1897 BY WALKER AND HALL

Each of rounded circular form upon a pedestal base with spreading circular foot. Each later engraved with the regimental badge for 3rd Battalion Manchester Regiment, with a Sphinx and EGYPT. Gilt interiors. Each fully marked to the side. (2)

Height – 14.3 cm / 5.65 inches

Weight – 375 grams / 12.09 ozt

The 3rd Battalion Manchester Regiment was formed in 1900, disbanded in 1906, stationed in Saint Helena and South Africa. The 1st Battalion was deployed to Egypt to take part in the Anglo-Egyptian War in 1882.
