A late 19th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver confectionary or rose petal jar, Cutch circa 1890
Raj period, of cylindrical form with a rounded base upon a collet foot. The pull off domed lid culminating in a truncated conical centre with a knop finial. The body with pierced and chased decoration of foliate scrolls with rosettes interspersed with lions, boars, and gazelles, all between acanthus leaf borders. The centre with a plain shield shape cartouche, the lid similarly decorated. Glass liner absent.
