An early 20th century Japanese silver twin handled tray, Yokohama dated 1902 by Watanabe
Meiji period. of rectangular form with rounded corners, twin tubular handles, the ovolo edge and handles with embossed decoration in iris pattern, against a spot hammered ground. The spot hammered field engraved with presentation inscription reading “Souvenir from a few old friends October 1902” then thirty-nine names. Marked to the field centre with maker’s mark Watanabe Zo and jungin.
