AN ANTIQUE BALOUCH RUG, NORTH-EAST PERSIA

The beige field with square lattice containing hooked bars. In broad light rred border of bold hooked panels and angular hooked vine between arrowhead and panelled stripes. Outer plain stripe, approx: 4ft.11in. x 2ft.11in.(145cm. x 89cm.) Good type and unusual design. This rug has slightly corroded charcoal-black, slight localized wear to the top pile in small places. Couple of small old repair at the edge on one end. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with narrow skirt and fringes, secured. In general this rug is in fair usable condition. Despite imperfections its still a good furniahing piece.
